Jungmann Square is a relatively busy place with lots of noise and turmoil. A girl wraps herself in a white cloth. Using red ink she starts to mark the cloth with her fingerprints. She pulls and twists until the entire cloth is covered with red fingers and hand prints. A lot of people pass by and look curiously at the two Vietnamese students Ly Hoang Ly and Patricia Guyen performing Memory vs Memory, but they don’t stop. The audience consists mainly of young PQ visitors. Numbers grow as the performance starts, but after a while many people leave. The girls lay down the cloth and fold it. Even though there is an opportunity to talk to the artist afterwards, the square quickly empties when the performance is finished, leaving no trace of what has happened here. It was as if the performance had not intruded on the public space at all….
