They fight to hold our attention, our eyes are directed towards the touristic highlights.
The Baroque city wants us stay focussed on the sculptured buildings, streets, statues. But less on the pavement, it only carries us from A to B. The better it is, the less we notice it. Prague streets actually have a quite nice surface, graphic even, with black and white stones in different patterns.
But probably no one is aware of this beautiful city feature. It is clean and even and goes unnoticed. Unfortunately people also step on signs left on the pavement. Feet trample signs which tell us where to look, what to see. If only our feet could see.
