For three days in a row I have been organising collective mapping sessions in which I aim to map the dynamic use and public behaviour in the old town square. Participants are asked to use an application for a mobile phone that has been designed for this purpose. This app has a map legend with several brushes that serve as tools. Each brush represents a category or kind of activity undertaken by the public at large. For example: officials, council workers, adolescents, people on Segways, locals manoeuvring through the crowd, etc. It is collectively decided on the spot, which public performers are interesting to map according to the time of day.
Today’s public performers were: council workers, Segways, locals trying to navigate through the crowd and homeless people.
