An Italian girl maps the Old Town Square by following people that fit a certain category. She sees all kinds of scenes on the square. She feels some kind of relationship with the people she follows but she knows it isn’t real. She thinks that the people she follows, although they have their backs to her, still somehow sense they are being followed but because they’re not sure, continue on their seperate ways.
The traces left behind by different categories (or roles) are different. Lovers walk more slowly and change direction often. City officials move fast and go straight to their destination.
