On my first day in Prague I tried to find the places where shops hoard their waste cardboard packaging intended for recycling. In the historical centre of town such collection points all seem to be in backstage locations: behind closed doors, underneath camouflaged panels or in back alleys. Sometimes the cardboard is transported directly from the shops to the garbage truck without a stopover. A situation where cardboard ‘waits’ to be picked up publicly on the street, appears to be highly undesirable; it blocks the view of important monuments, restaurants, souvenir shops …
